Jane's story Jane* is a 90-year-old member of St Luke’s, who joined after hearing about St Luke's and what it offered from a friend. Before Covid-19 put restrictions on services, Jane would spend entire days at the Centre socialising with other older members, playing games like Hoy, taking part in group breathing exercises and enjoying the lunches freshly made by the St Luke’s catering team. When asked about what she would like to see at the Centre, Jane commented that everything she needs St Luke’s already offers and, due to her age, what she values most about St Luke’s is the ability to have a safe place to “just relax and enjoy other people’s company”. Since getting older and having issues with mobility, the St Luke’s team have transported her to and from the Centre every day to ensure she was still able to engage in services and socialise.Through lockdowns she has continued to enjoy daily meals through the meal delivery service from the St Luke’s over 55s' team. As well as having meals delivered, Jane has also been transported in St Luke's minibus to receive all her vaccinations by the team at St Luke’s. *name changed to protect identity.
