We are recruiting experienced local cyclists to volunteer for our new Trishaw bike project, Cycling Without Age. A Trishaw bike is an electric bike with a seat for two people at the front so we need confident cyclists to regularly volunteer a few hours each month to take families and older residents for short fun local rides.

Thousands of people are enjoying rides on the Trishaw Bikes all over the world as part of the international Cycling Without Age movement and St Luke’s would like to introduce the project here for all ages in South Islington.

Thanks to the support from a Groundwork’s Walking and Cycling Grant, we have purchased two Trishaw Bikes and will launch the project once we have regular volunteers in place. So please get in touch now by emailing [email protected] and we’ll get you on board!

St Luke’s Community Centre works with residents who are experiencing social isolation and we believe our Cycling Without Age project will:

  • Offer a fun free activity for people of all ages
  • Reduce social isolation
  • Increase well-being and exercise
  • Enable residents to enjoy the outdoors again

All volunteers will be given training on the Trishaw and will become part of St Luke’s team. We are particularly looking for volunteers to do the bike rides during weekdays or after school. If you are interested in becoming a cycling volunteer please email [email protected]
